Yesterday we launched the first phase of some big updates for the Point system. Most importantly, we have introduced our new paid plan, Point Premium. The biggest change is that we are now limiting the number of free domains to 10 per user and if you require more domains you will need to upgrade to our premium service which allows up to 75.

If you currently host more than 10, don’t worry we won’t be turning anything off – you are free to keep these for as long as you want but you won’t be able to add any additional domains unless you upgrade.
The premium subscription costs £48/year plus VAT if located within the EC or United Kingdom. You can pay using your credit/debit card or Paypal by logging into your Point account.
The key feature you will unlock when upgrading is the ability to add more than 10 domains although we also offer telephone & email support to all premium subscribers.

We have also just finished phasing out the VPS.NET sponsored DNS servers (dns1, dns2 & dns3) and these have been replaced by services from Linode for DNS2 (NJ, USA) and DNS3 (CA, USA) as well as XtraHost for DNS1 (London, UK). These new services should provide greater reliability for these nameservers.
